- I have been certified with NAUI for 7 years now, though I haven't dived in the last 3 years. I got certified in Monterey Bay and have dived all over the Central California Coast and the Channel Islands off Santa Barbara. The only warm water dives I've done were in Honduras. If you are a diver and haven't been to Polsada del Sol on Guanaja, I would recommend you go. (Of course, I don't know what Hurricane Mitch did to them, and the Reef, but in 'when I went, I fell in love with it! I will get back there one day!) My favorite California dives were at Monastary (aka Mortuary) Beach. On the north side you have the Carmel Cayon. ON the south you have one of the Best Kelp Forests around. The water is cold. But what's a little hypothermia if you are enjoying the best diving? If you really want to know the REAL reasons I dive, just click on the diver.
- What can I say? Without a doubt, the one experience everyone should try. My first time I was a wee bit under the influence go up. Stone cold sober when I got down. Total adrenalin rush. My daughter Ashley, age 15, is also hooked. We do it once a year when she comes down from Oregon to visit.

- Other Water Sports
- I classify Other water sports as those spent on top of the water. Jet Skis, White Water Rafting, knee boarding, and in a calmer vein, fishing.

- Writing
- I was an English Major in school. What can I say? I love the language, but there is, admittedly, a bit masochism involved with the process. Some writers liken it to giving birth, but I think that is a bit cliched, and actually not quite an apt analogy. I liken writng to the act of creation. I mean after all, a writer faces a blank page, or screen, and out of the nameless void, the nothingness, they try to create a world that is not only coherent, but alive as well. ( Creating a webpage involves the same process and gives me the same sense of satisfaction.) And I enjoy writing both as a solo effort and in collaboration.
